For most of my career—even before I became a Christian career coach—I didn’t talk about my faith.
Not in meetings.
Not in performance reviews.
Not even with colleagues I trusted.
I kept that part of me quiet. Not because I was ashamed. But because I thought that was the “professional” thing to do.
But something shifted this past weekend during revival. A moment that felt less like inspiration, and more like obedience.
I realized: I can’t keep showing up professionally if I’m hiding the very thing that guides every decision I make.
Every move I’ve made in my career—from leaving corporate, to launching my own business—has been led by prayer, surrender, and deep spiritual listening.
My company name, Yakum Inc, literally came to me in a dream. I woke up and looked it up—only to find out it’s Hebrew. And I don’t speak Hebrew.
It means: “Yahweh will establish. He will raise.”
I couldn’t have orchestrated that if I tried.
Things that make it clear: this isn’t just my work—it’s my assignment.
And my job? Is to obey. Even when it’s uncomfortable.
Most of the women who find me aren’t searching for a “Christian career coach.” They’re searching for clarity.
They might land on a YouTube video, a blog post, or quietly Google something like “Christian career coach near me.”
And while the words they type may vary, their desire is the same.
They’re not just hiring me for strategy. They’re looking for someone who sees the whole of them.
Someone who can hold space for their spiritual sensitivity, career ambition, and deep desire for alignment—all at once.
And I can’t do that with integrity if I’m hiding the very thing that grounds everything I do.
I don’t believe in convincing anyone to work with me.
The women who are meant to find this work will.
My job isn’t to persuade you.
It’s to be visible, honest, and obedient.
So when the moment comes—when the version of you that you’ve been hiding is ready to lead—you know where to go.
You don’t need to hide anymore.
And neither do I.
